Our Team!

Each of our facilities has a dedicated auditing and recovery team.  This means that your accounts would be handled by the same people every day; that’s what makes it possible for the auditing and recovery team to know your facility on an in-depth and intimate level that facilitates the best possible results.

The team concept was introduced in July 2009, and we are looking forward to increased results from this concept in addition to the multitude of process improvements that are now in full operation daily.   Each team offers 50+ years combined experience in the Health Care Industry.

The teams are backed up by a Circle of Support that sets HCI apart. We are proud of our efforts in support of our teams, and hope that you will be, too!

A Closer Look at the Circle of Support:

Senior Management Council (SMC) - Carole Kelly, Susan Thiel and Chuck Edwards are responsible for the Circle of Support. These dedicated leaders work every day to ensure that the teams have the best tools available to bring you the most thorough line-by-line managed care audits possible.

Team Management Council (TMC) - The TMC meets with each individual team on a daily basis to facilitate their ongoing education and closely monitor the results of your facility.

IT Team - After the auditing and recovery team, this is probably the group at HCI you will come to know best. Our IT Team works with your facility to ensure the best possible access and connectivity to keep your data flowing to us smoothly.

Contracting Team - Just like IT, Contracting makes sure that the teams have the most current contract information in house that they need to successfully audit and collect. As well, and as equally important, the Contracting team works diligently to ensure that your contracts really do protect your best interests.  If, at any time, we see a trend that you need to be aware of, a “Flash Report” will be generated for your information and review.

Documents Team - You know, better than anyone, that the medical business generates documents! Our Documents Team keeps all those requests on track, makes sure that we have supporting documentation for claims when necessary, and generally makes sure that the teams have everything they need to successfully recover your lost dollars.

Nurse Auditing - Nurse Auditing is one of HCI's finest accomplishments. The Executive Director that spearheads this department is an R.N., B.S.N, CHCQM, C.C.M., a InterQual Certified Professional in Utilization Review, a Diplomate of ABQAURP (The American Board of Quality Assurance & Utilization Review Physicians, Inc.) and a Certified Case Manager. Reinforcements like these give the teams the confidence to not walk away from a claim when a Payor says "No, sorry, not paying." Nurse Auditing is on hand, every day, to review and file medical appeals. YTD, Nurse Auditing has recovered over a million dollars for our clients after the payor said “NO”.

Analyst/Reporting Team - Last but not least, the HCI Analysts are responsible for tracking and trending on a daily basis, to give the teams the most current data on how your facility looks by Payors and DNP Reason within your facility. As if that job isn't big enough, they also generate all client reports for you!
